Our pride is ensuring that you get exactly what you envisioned as a floral gift; attractively wrapped, a hand-written card message and the information you need to enjoy your gift. Whether you come into our store, call us, or shop online, our knowledgeable staff will do their utmost to ensure you get what you’ve asked for. Whether you are looking for a customized bouquet done on the spot while you wait or call us to create an exquisite arrangement for that special occasion, for pick-up or delivery. It is our great pleasure to assist you. As floral artists we constantly stay on top of industry standards and trends. We attend industry seminars and exhibits and in fact, the owner Karen LeRoy completed her certification as a certified florist with the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD) and is also a certified wedding coordinator with the Wedding Planning Institute of Canada (WPIC). All of the staff have between 10-20 years experience either working for Alta Vista Flowers or in the industry. We've had the great honour of designing flowers for the Dalai's Lama's visit last year. As well as floral designs for Queen Elizabeth II, Michaëlle Jean, and Measha Brueggergosman, just to name a few. Environmental Initiatives: We do our very best to tread lightly on the environment. Alta Vista Flowers is one of the very few shops in Ottawa that operate our own delivery vehicle and employ a driver. A few years ago we purchased a preowned diesel Sprinter van, the savings alone in fuel, pay for the vehicle. Where available we purchase fairly traded flowers and do our best to recycle packaging material, and use biodegradable plastic bags and have separated garbage and cardboard. Many of our customers return vases and baskets and we happily offer then discounts. We are hoping the City of Ottawa may consider a composting pilot project with us. Giving back to the community: Without the hard work of dedicated volunteers and community initiatives our community would not be a community. We do our best to give back in both small and large ways; here is a list of few of the initiatives we have assisted. The Festival of Chocolate: a fundraiser for the Ottawa Distress Centre, Spring Fair-Alta Vista Public School, Museum of Civilization, CHEO, Ottawa Classical Choir, Orpheus, Bayview School and so many more…
